#5: Intro to Animation History

Students will begin a project of an animated short to be worked on as an animation production team that is to be completed by the first week of March.

This will be able to be used in their portfolio as well as in their demo reel when applying to colleges or projects. This project will be entered into film festivals and contests! We are getting better every year.

Let’s make this the BEST ANIMATED SHORT THAT HAS COME OUT OF HERE YET!

Lets get started:

Students will first conference and decide on a story. Remember: Then they will story board.

Each student will be assigned a role/job or multiple roles/job for each part of the project. We will all be doing something different to contribute and finish this project as a team.

Part 1: Students will each have their own jobs as storyboard artist, character designer, interior/exterior designer, scene director, object designer.

This will ensure we are prepared, ready, and organized to be ready to make each scene in 3D. These jobs will be assigned in class.

You are to complete your assigned project by the deadline. Assignments, jobs, & all info will be in a google doc that will be posted here after all jobs are assigned.

*Deadline September 21st*

Part #1

Part 2:

Students will then have their own jobs modeling and texturing objects, house, exterior/scenery, characters, lighting and more. Groups of objects will be assigned in class.

Each student will model and texture their assigned items, location, space, character, etc.

*Deadline December 7th*

Part #2

Part 3:

As we approach the animation portion of the project, each student will receive a master file with all models & scenes in it to then animate at their workspace.

You will animate your scene including:

-objects

-set the cameras

-set lights

-&render.

All scenes will be submitted both as the BLENDER file and as the RENDERED out file. ALL SCENES are due  on our hard deadline of February 20th.
